Close your remote desktop session and open remote desktop connections, uncheck the printers button under local resources.

For administrators using RDP, sometimes its better to turn off some of the "local resources" like printer, smart cards, ports and drives. All I really wanted to do was delete the printer from the current domain controller and move it to a different one.

When I did "Remove from Directory" for that particular printer, I was to still able to print to that printer as a domain user. I didn't really understand why that was possible. I can select the older driver from the printers properties driver section, but the printers take the newer version and dont revert, I need to remove the driver, but not sure how.

Open Print Management Open command prompt, type in printmanagement. Print Management console is part of Administrative Tools. Should be able to remove drivers there. To continue this discussion, please ask a new question.
