The DualShock 4 features a similar design, but it is less effective. During the Xbox and PS3 days, gamers constantly criticized the PS3 controller for its poor triggers. These triggers were uncomfortable to press down on and were outclassed by the Xbox controllers triggers.
With the release of the DualShock 4 and Xbox One controller, the triggers for both controllers have been improved considerably. The DualShock 4 had a lot to prove with its trigger design, and it did not disappoint. The triggers now have a thinner edge and are faster to press, leading to quicker reaction times when playing shooters. The triggers of the Xbox One controller are just as comfortable, thanks to their redesign.
They are now bigger and more comfortable to use. Pressing down on the side of the trigger is much faster than pressing the top down.
Unlike the DualShock 4, these triggers feature haptic feedback, which creates a more immersive gaming experience. The most noticeable visual difference between the controllers is the Xbox One controller lacks a touchpad. In some cases, the touchpad acts as several button inputs. If a DualShock 4 is used on a PC, the touchpad can be used as a mouse replacement. I don't understand the reasons for comparing the two either.
Console gaming and PC gaming in most cases have similarities through multiplatform games. You get the same gameplay, but in terms of graphical fidelity it goes to PC and will always be that way because of advancement in technology. It's like the BF4 demo that Dice showcased.
The demo was played on a PC. Next-gen consoles will look good, and I could be wrong with my following statement; but I highly doubt BF4 on consoles will look like the PC counterpart.
The gap may not be like last gen, but it will be there. Yeah, I mean even when a new graphics card comes out, it becomes dated technology within a few months due to how quickly these companies are churning cards out. PC graphics are going to keep getting better while consoles will be stuck with the same hardware for years to come.
If people can't understand that basic logic, then they're going to be gravely disappointed next gen if they buy a console expecting it to blow PCs away graphically.
Consoles have always been about value for money and that's what you get. Yeah, the graphics will be much better compared to last gen's games, but it's impossible for console graphics to overtake PC graphics because you can always upgrade your PC's hardware. Assuming you have the money, of course. PS4 is better than just "slightly' better quality ram. PS4 is the clear winner. I couldn't believe it.
I agree, from my understanding the xbox uses 3gb for operating system and ps4 uses 1gb so we will see the same thing xbox have a few ips and ps4 have a lot of high quality ips.
I'm not sold by the next box the halo game series has lost me and i'm sure i can pirate the halo tv series somewhere because that could be interesting. But Sony have made it clear that they are concentrating solely on games. I think microsoft are trying too hard to attract more people that they are now alienating their true fans. If ultra high resolution textures, physics, tessellations and what not used on games that runs of these machines, more than 4GB rams will be used will pretty much be a possibilities.
In a few more years maybe. Further more both machines uses 64bit instead of 32bit from previous eras. PS: Until now only a handful games utilizes 64bit on PC. Even that i can't see much differences graphically other than less chugging and crashes. This is nothing more than a sugar coated spec comparision leveled in favor of the Xbox 1 to try to douse some of the flames that are licking at Microsoft butt crack!
It's pretty much confirmed that the PS4 will be the stronger of the two. This quote IMO says it all: "The Xbox One still gives game developers a significant performance boost over the previous generation, but also attempts to widen the audience for the console. MS made some sacrifices for gaming to expand their demographic by building a console more geared towards being a multimedia hub.
Not vice versa. MS appears to be thumbing their nose at the base that brought them to the dance and now going business as usual. I don't know too many gamers that are less than thrilled with their reveal yesterday. Considering the features the Xbox One and PS4 controllers offer, there is not much that separates the two.
They're much more compatible with PCs than the DualShock 4, even if they might require the purchase of additional hardware most of which is optional. Ultimately, the shape, weight, and size of the controllers is critical for a comfortable gaming experience. Both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have fantastic controllers, it's ultimately up to the user to determine which is best for their play style.

By Duncan Chetrafilov Published Aug 13, The architecture used by the new consoles is based off a design called Jaguar, which targets mobile devices, rather than the faster and more powerful Piledriver architecture, used in desktop computers.
Core count, however, deserves more attention. With the new consoles offering six cores, and many modern gaming rigs now shipping with at least four cores, the writing is on the wall for older dual-core gaming PCs. Developers have more incentive than ever before to optimize for multi-core systems, and that will leave computers lacking at least four cores behind.
However, they may still be a worthwhile upgrade if you have an AMD dual-core and can find a seller offering reasonable prices. Processors are reliable, so you can expect it to last despite its age. The boost in clock speed can make a difference. With the processor handled, gamers will next want to take a look at their graphics card.
Once again, both manufacturers are using a custom-tailored AMD architecture which is based off PC hardware. The PlayStation 4 has cores running at MHz, generating a peak output of 1.
