Calibration adjustment should be carried out with the appropriate probe, on the same type of metal, the same curvature and similar surface finish as that of the item to be measured. It is best to use an uncoated item that is similar to the coated item to be tested. When the gauge is shipped from the factory it comes with a preset calibration.
